Felling Girly

worn on August 3rd, 2011

Look, I’m wearing two of the items I picked up at the recent Swap Uncapped! The sweater was a score- its cashmere and incredibly soft. And really, I only picked up the skirt for the floral print. But I’m glad I did- because it turned out pretty cute. I debated whether or not to hem it knee-length or shorter. But I’ve acquired a lot of longer length skirts this summer, so I thought I would go shorter with this one.

Our Own Harry Potter Weekend & a DIY

worn on June 4th, 2011

I’ve done this DIY before - here - with some grey trousers. But I had seen an image of denim scalloped shorts awhile back and I’ve been dying to make them. I’ve just been waiting to find a cheap pair of wide legs to do it, because I didn’t want them to be skin tight in the thighs. I found these ones at goodwill, and they fit perfect - so I knew it was time! I love β€˜em. Thy just might be my new favorite shorts :)

Its very simple and there are plenty of tutorials out there! All you need is some sort of marker or fabric pencil, scissors, and fray check. And voila! I had these babies done in about a half hour.

Boo and I had a very Harry Potter filled weekend. We watched a few of the movies, read our books, and even made Butterbeer! Delicious.

Project ReStyle #2

worn on April 15th, 2011

You may not be able to tell from the before picture ( I really should’ve photographed it on me), but this dress was actually floor length and you could’ve fit 3 of me in it. It was huuuuge. So not only did I rework the shape and length, I also turned it all around so the little cheetahs were right side up. And cut out the orange leaf-y stripes. I didn’t like them. Overall, I like what it is now. It ended up being shorter than I originally planned, but thats what I get for cutting without measuring. And I guess thats what little lacey slips are for :)

I wore it for our friday date night. We went to the new Max Brenners on Boylston and got our butts kicked by all the yummy chocolate-ness. Soooo yummy.

P.S - don’t forget to enter the giveaway over at The Daily Fashionista to a bow tie necklace from my shop!

Turquoise and Scallops and Bows - Project ReStyle

January 27th, 2010

top and belt: Urban Outfitters, shorts: Urban Outfitters re-styled, headband and tights: Anthropologie

Worn For: Showing off my first Project Restyle item! So I finally got my butt moving and re worked these pants. They were fine pants, but I wasn’t completely won over by the way the fit me. So with a little snip snip and some fray check and I got myself a new pair of scalloped shorts! And for the cherry on top- I used the extra fabric from the pant legs to make little bows for the back pockets. Yes, I do like bows on my bum.

^ I’m dancin’ β€˜because I got new shorts.
